This is a simple blueprint for making healthy homemade dog food at home. You will need an extra large bowl, as this dog food recipe makes about a gallon. It doesn't take long to make. You need to brown the meat, cook the rice, and chop the vegetables/fruit. Then, mix it all together in a large container. To be more specific: Take a little over 3 pounds of meat, or 9 cups either cooked ground chicken, turkey, or beef, and brown in a skillet. Mix the meat with 3 cups of carbohydrates, such as oatmeal or brown rice. Then add 3 cups of chopped veggies and fruit.
These ingredients can be stored several days in your refrigerator, and heated up at mealtime. IMO, this homemade dog food recipe is much healthier than any commercial dog food on the market. It is all made from human grade ingredients, after all, why feed something to your dog that you would be unwilling to eat?
