Did you know, that one of the best treatments for dog dermatitis, is apple cider vinegar? It is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and will dry up hot spots and moist dematitis right away. In addition, it works very well as a flea repellent, and can be used effectively and safely as a flea treatment. As if that is not enough, there are reports that apple cider vinegar helps dogs with weak immunity and even arthritis. If you have a dog at home, you may want to keep some apple cider vinegar handy.
I may have been surprised by these claims in the past, but have experienced the benefits of apple cider vinegar personally. One time I had such a bad sunburn, I developed blisters over much of my body. I was in so much pain, and none of the products I purchased were helping at all. At that point, a friend recommended that I apply apple cider vinegar over my whole body. With much doubt, but in complete desperation, I tried it and was absolutely amazed at the results. The results were immediate, and I started feeling much better just after one application. Apple cider vinegar has the same amazing results in treating dog dermatitis as well.
To treat fleas with apple cider vinegar start by giving your dog a bath with a mild and natural shampoo without any pesticides. Then rinse your dog in a 50% apple cider vinegar and 50% water solution. Do not rinse off the apple cider vinegar, just lightly towel dry. Prepare the 50-50 solution in a spray bottle, and spray your dogs bedding as well. After you take your dog out for a walk each day, apply a light spray to his coat. To help keep the fleas away, you can even add small amounts of apple cider vinegar to the drinking water. It is recommended to add about one tablespoon to five cups of water in the dog drinking bowl.
Apple cider vinegar will repel fleas and soothe itchy irritated skin. You should notice less eye discharge and a healthier looking coat within a few weeks, and is great for cleaning out sore or infected ears as well. For general health, try giving approximately 1/2 oz. a day for a small to medium sized dog, with 1/4 oz. given in the morning and 1/4 oz. in the evening. It is non-toxic, it works, and is healthy for people as well.
